Situated on the site of the former Costains Brickworks, just twenty miles from Glasgow, AC Land Regeneration is set to create a residential-led site suitable to accommodate up to 300 private new homes.
Although the land is relatively flat, steep gradients surround the boundaries of the site and extensive remediation works are required to create a development platform ready for a house builder.
AC Land intend to create a platformed site ready for a house builder that will feature accessible pedestrian and cycle pathways alongside well designed streets and open spaces.
Constraints
The topography of the land and the associated complication of the former use means extensive demolition is required together with coal mining risks, these are the key challenges to overcome to enable the land to be remediated to make way for a development platform.
Earthworks is key to the delivery of this site and careful design and implementation of a robust solution is ongoing.
